Re: The magic of tidying

On an 8 day streak now of daily efforts. I hope I can keep it up. Not much progress but not going backwards.

Re: The magic of tidying

Today I lost my 10 day streak. I'm back where I started.

Re: The magic of tidying

@Dimity don't be hard on yourself sweetheart, you did 10 days and that is amazing. It's one day at a time. I have a friend who has no mental health issues and she struggles to clean regularly. To have MH issues and to try and motivate, that is a struggle in itself.

Well done on 10 days, tomorrow is another day. As the Japanese proverb says "Fall down 7 times, stand up 8"

You've got this! xoxo

I completely understand why you might feel disheartened by this, but 10 days is SO impressive.  Especially with everything you have been going through as of late. I absolutely second @ENKELI here. @Dimity

Big hugs to you both. 🥰

Re: The magic of tidying

Thanks @ENKELI @AuntGlow . I don't feel so bad now. It was the best I'd done in ages.

Next time I'd like to do more than the backlog of chores. I'd like to make inroads into the longterm clutter.

Today my counsellor said how good it was I'd joined 2 support groups on alternate weeks - a big step for me.

@Dimity
Not back to where you started, you’re 10 days ahead already - your new starting point is miles ahead of what it was last time.

Re: The magic of tidying

Thanks @SleeplessRaven . A lot of it was just chores - I'd not been keeping up - but I did decide to toss out a few things. And I'm catching up in the garden.

My mood/activity tracker congratulated me on reaching Rookie level lol.

You will get there, I know you will. @Dimity

Yes, it's an amazing step towards building your social connections and engaging in activities that are stimulating. What days are your groups? And which one is this week? 🫶

Re: The magic of tidying

@Dimity  ..my place looks like 'a bomb hit it' as my now 7 years departed mum might have said  on seeing my mess

Re: The magic of tidying

Both groups are Tuesdays @AuntGlow , they happen to fall in alternating weeks. It works out well for me. I think I'm the only person who goes to both. They might give me confidence to try more challenging activities, or social rather than activity-based groups.

This week it was an exercise group.

Today was a big day for me, I had a visitor.

I guess I'm slowly trying to extend myself.
