Re: The magic of tidying

Hi @Chantarelle and welcome 🙂

I love your name (I love mushrooms!). What sort of cat do you have? I have a ragdoll called Mal but I usually refer to him as Mr MurderMittens as he has huge paws that he likes to use.

Well done on your cleaning, I struggle with tidying my house and I still have boxes of things from when I moved back into my home nearly 3 years ago.

Reading is definitely a great reward for all that you've achieved.

Re: The magic of tidying

I completely understand this @Dimity. I haven't been through this process of EMDR before, but I can hear that the preparation can feel quite distressing...  have you been able to check-in with your therapist at all? So that you can titrate and slowly integrate this process into your care plan?

Because you're right, acknowledging your schemas is hard. And I think it's okay to let them know that this feels too much for your nervous system to hold alone.

How is this all sitting with you at the moment?

Re: The magic of tidying

@ENKELI The name comes from a TV character who thinks it's exotic and is then embarrassed when she learns it's a mushroom which I always find really funny. My kitty might be part Russian Blue, she's definitely gorgeous, but I think she's just a run of the mill domestic short hair rescue. Currently sooking at me that breakfast is late so I must run. But I can't actually put into words how grateful I am for the people who have reached out to me over the weekend. Thank you ❤️

@Chantarelle

My cat is a rescue too. We got her from the RSPCA two years ago (3 Dec 2023). So she just had her anniversary with us. She was 9 when we rescued her. She had a health scare this year and the vet said she would die within weeks or months back on 21st July. She is still here and looking healthy. Doing all the right cat sort of things. Eating like a horse and stuff. Hopefully she has rebounded and her kidneys have sorted themselves out a bit. She is a pretty cat. I can't put up a photo cos I am on my laptop and it's easier for me to put up photo's from my phone. Maybe later or another day. There is a photo on another thread, The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Just click on the blue words to get there. My cat's name is Marmalade.

Re: The magic of tidying

The support button isn't working.

Loved hearing about your cats @Oaktree

@Chantarelle @ENKELI . My Tiger is very old and arthritic on his 3 legs and can get quite upset.

I achieved what I'd hoped Saturday. Sunday I lost track. Now I'm back to facing a backlog.

@AuntGlow thanks, I'll pick up in another thread.

Re: The magic of tidying

@Oaktree what a gorgeous thread of kitty photos! In 2011 a little torty walked into my house and said what's for dinner? I said um... you don't live here. And she said that's what YOU think! Sadly, she crossed the rainbow bridge last year. After six months of celebrating food that didn't come with cat hair flavouring Bonnie turned up on my Facebook feed though the Brisbane Cat Cafe. Love at first sight. Even if I have found paw prints up on top of the rangehood after she assured me she doesn't go up there when I'm at work.

Re: The magic of tidying

I'm expecting visitors Monday. So I'll have to tidy.
