Re: Best Friends Club

Hi@Cuddlebear @Dreamy I've been continuing to work on my essay (even though I already finished the whole draft) by refining/editing a lot of the stuff from my 'finished' body paragraphs that I initially wrote, because last night there was a webinar session where we were given examples of a HD (high distinction) vs a pass paragraph for past essays, so I noticed that a lot of the things I initially wrote on my body paragraphs seemed to have met the 'pass' criteria, which I don't really want to get marked on as I aim to get somewhere higher than a 'pass' like distinction (70-80%) or a high distinction (I don't really wanna get a Credit mark which is 60-69% tho haha). So I've done that 🙃 now have body paragraph 3 left to refine/edit.

Re: Best Friends Club

Hello @Appleblossom, well done for the cleaning up and the meditation and physio exercises, sounds like a productive day for you. Hope you enjoy the visitors coming over ☺️

Re: Best Friends Club

@Cuddlebear it was scary when I almost became homeless earlier this year cos they put the rent up, but i managed to get them to not increase it as much as they wanted to. I'm struggling to pay it so it's very much a risk of losing the house still. I finished watching Buffy and Angel again, then I watched the nanny, I'm currently watching everybody loves Raymond. Movies I just watch the same things over and over again, same as tv shows really. I don't cope with change.

Re: Best Friends Club

@Blackcloud sounds like having the webinar was helpful. Well done for going through and editing things, you really are amazing sweet ❤️

Re: Best Friends Club

Hello @Cuddlebear , I was in a PARC late last year.

It's residential care with less support than a hospital. There are health workers (doctors and nurses) and psychosocial support workers. Unlike a hospital, the nurses at PARC do not stay overnight.

Some pointers:

Keep in mind that the workers do not know you very well, and consider their suggestions carefully before you take their advice. I made some decisions from their advice that I am now unhappy with.

In your initial assessment with the psychiatrist, ask them to chart any medications you may need. I needed pain relief one night after the nurse left and they couldn't give it to me because it wasn't on my chart.

Make an effort to advocate for your needs throughout your stay. This is really important, so that they know what you need and what your preferences are.

A lot of consumers find that the two weeks is not long enough, so make the most of your stay.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Re: Best Friends Club

I had a very busy day as I also had 3 visitors @Cuddlebear. when I first joined the forum I was very isolated, and appreciated practicing being social on here, and gradually got used to it in real life. I learned to express more rather than be so fearful. It really helped. Its good seeing you “talk “ to others too, gives the forums a good village atmosphere.
