Re: Best Friends Club

This is embarrassing @tyme I was looking for your name -

Again I got too close too quickly. She began ringing me telling me she didn't want to see me when she was supposed to be with me

When I said I needed our work to be strictly professional she came to me and  was just telling me if I cancel on her she doesn't get paid.

@AuntGlow   Pretty crap. Not gonna move out of bed.

I understand this feeling. I have a had a few days like this lately @Cuddlebear. I think allowing yourself time to rest and then doing the most simple acts of self-care will go a long way.

For example, the other day, I cancelled plans and stayed in bed, then ate some food with my housemate - and that's all I did. I think that fully surrendering to how I felt allowed me to take small actions towards things I needed to do the next day. I wonder if this approach could help? 💛

Re: Best Friends Club

@PeppyPatti How are you this afternoon? 🥰

Re: Best Friends Club

hey everyone 💗 haven’t been on this post in a while but I hope you’re all doing okay

Re: Best Friends Club

Not good @AuntGlow

I'm struggling with this new carer. It's my fault. She's 30, I didn't get involved but I did -  with making sure she was there for her 5 year old son. So I let her bring her son to work with her.

But when I asked her if she could remember that this service is about me, she sat me down and told me I'm only allowed to cancel her in the morning of her service, not the night before so she can be paid. Now she's 20 minutes late.

What am I doing for this to happen so frequently ?

And then........getting older.

Okay. I'm having difficulties thinking life passes me by ......

Re: Best Friends Club

Oh, that is awfully considerate of you @PeppyPatti. It definitely sounds like this person is going through a tough time, but it's also her responsibility to be there for you fully when she is getting paid to be your support worker.

I am curious to know if you have someone who can support you with setting boundaries/advocating on your behalf? And have you been recieving her support through an organisation or directly through her? 💛
