It sounds like you had a lovely time with your family @Appleblossom .  I've got some distressing news, mum suffered a serious head injury yesterday morning, and is going to be in hospital for some weeks.  My sister Beck and brother-in-law Lyndan are looking after the house, and Oscar's with Dad at accommodation at the hospital.  Dad doesn't want to leave Mum alone there, so accommodation nearby is the answer. 

When I spoke to him I could tell Dad was being calm for me.

@Abner I am really sorry to hear about your mum. I do hope she is not too bad and that the doctors can help. Would be stressful for everyone.  Look after yourself too.

@Glisten yes, I think she said it cost $900 a month in kitty litter, food and supplements. Some days the smell is breath taking....fortunately most days when I visit it's not noticeable. I mean, there are cat ladies and then there's crazy cat ladies like said friend. 

I p*sses me because while she's paying nearly a grand for her cats and complaining that she thinks she deserves to get paid even more than she already does I am struggling to find $50 a month to pay for a non pbs medication that I need. 

Gotta stop thinking about it before I start crying at the injustice of it all 😰

@ENKELI  I know those feels.  You’re a better person than me. You keep seeing your thousand $ cat friend while she vents about being poor and your shopping at Food Bank and stealing toilet paper from public bathroom 🚽 facilities. No wait, that last bit is me 😆

I had to stop having afternoon walk n talks with women that agists her horses here because she would continuously vent about her problem housemates in her 3x2 house. But their $$$$ pay for the maintenance of her three horses.

Current alfresco renovations, thank goodness she has two jobs and owns her Ford Ranger. Great that she can take her Doberman to the office.

But I can’t understand why she has done nothing to pay for $90 in plants 🌱 that her dog has destroyed.

No thank you. Not anymore.

@ENKELI  are you friends with the crazy cat lady because you like to visit her cats? That makes sense 😆

@Glisten I've known crazy cat lady 50 years. We grew up together as our mums were friends. She was also the only other child of a divorced mum that I knew, growing up in the 80's. I love her like a sister and she can be very generous. Example, last year for my birthday she took me out for lunch and then spent over $100 on me at Bunnings. 

I put up with the whining about money for the sake of an otherwise solid friendship. Besides that, she knows where the bodies are buried...!

Parking on Victoria Street is probably a good idea. I drove past on Wednesday and the car park at pre-poll was filled with volunteers from all parties. They've doubled up because they have to cover both 🫎 Moose and Hasluck.

I'm always reminded of my paternal grandmother who voted Liberal and my grandfather who voted Labor. Nana would take the how to vote card for Lib and fold it up in her purse, then take the Labor card so Pop thought she was voting the same as him. Nana told me to his dying day he didn't know she voted Liberal. What a rebel she was!

Hope your day goes well, I'm off to Bunnings (lol, no seriously!) to buy mouse bait for a particularly stubborn mouse who has managed to find a way to eat the bait in the 2 brand new traps without setting them off. You'd think with 2 cats I wouldn't have a mouse problem. HA! They are too well fed!

Yesterday, a lady was talking about mice problems. Can depend on territory around your house. So far I have been lucky... Beyond mouse poo in the ceiling that was cleaned out when I put in new insulation.

Friendship can be tricky. Money is a problem for rich and poor. We all need some chance to vent, but be mindful of the listening ears...

A building sign told me, I was in the “New Dalkeith” - noice. I have my phone in my face and “No thanks I’m good” is working for me.

Then I’m going to Bunnings and I shall drink coffee ☕️ and purchase tube stock plants 🌱
