I BEEN READING HOW TOS AND WRITING A DECENT RESPONSE TO WHATS TODAYS HIGHLIGHT only for it not to send so i moved to nightlife and went dtraight into i just done this and that happened and that did send so i quickly responded with please add hello at start of that and thought that didnt work so replied again apologising for bad form and failing to start with hello and it went through only thats when i saw second one i had a phew moment at delete post option that was very short lived as taken to another page and i wemt from being embaressed to feeling defeated because whats this? is clearly not a url and i dont know if this is going to woerk and im feeling defeated and stupid and i just want to say hello and be accepted but even though i read how to all the way its not how i learn things and its got nothing to do with leaving school before 15 coz computers were not something you heard about at school then.

Hey @REDLINEZ750 , you're certainly not the only one on the forums to have some difficulties figuring out how posting replies works; I dont think you need to be embarrassed or ashamed. As you say, many people did not grow up learning how to use computers - let alone the internet! I think it is great you are giving it a go and reaching out. 😊

If you click "Reply" to my post, and then it will take you to a page where you can post into a text box what you'd like to respond with. Don't change the box with the "Re:" and heading of the thread (actually im not sure what it does if you do, but maybe it will confuse the system?), but under that is a blank box with text editing tools - thats where to put the reply. 😊

And if you are responding to a person its always a good idea to "tag" them so that they will get a notification of your reply. You do this by typing the "@" symbol and then it will prompt with recent user names from the thread, or you can type another user name if theyre not in the list.

For example, to tag you I write @REDLINEZ750 , and it show as a link so I know that its found your user name properly. 😊

Hi @REDLINEZ750 I can see that you were wanting to post in the welcome and getting started thread, so I thought I'd break it down how to get there from this thread, using screenshots:

Then to post your comment as reply to the thread you can scroll down to the end of the first post, press the "reply" button, and then enter your introduction to the text box (as pictured), once you've done this, scroll down a little and press on "post". 

Your message should then appear on the last page of the thread 🙂 You'll know your post has been uploaded successfully when you see this page:

Click on the area suggested will take you to your message in the thread.

Let us know if you're still needing a bit more help, we know it can take some time to learn how to navigate the forums!

thank you, i truly appreciate coming on and seeing your message

woke up to what my psychologist refers to as punitive parent and thoughts causing me to feel embarresed and foolish and had to ground before anxiety would let me come back, a fear of being turned on by others and blaming myself for it anyway had to be challenged with facing the facts and reverse action which is a process still.

umm dont think its a tech issue i dont know what a url is or how to navigate a website sorry i wasnt meaning to complain about anything i was more asking for help and i dont want to come accross as  ignorant & unable to see its my lack of understanding that was the issue, a few people mentioned the screening requirements which i didnt take into account so i apologise if i caused any waves and appreciate your reply.

thanks so much for breaking that down it made much moreeasy to  umderstand.

i was getting confused thinking going to last message would comment to the users post and not the thread.

i dont use facebook or twitter, snapchat or anything so it was all foriegn thank you for taking time to help i appreciate it.

You're doing fine @REDLINEZ750 😊 and I'm glad if our helpfulness is not only helpful technology wise but also able to provide positive reinforcement that its OK to be learning new things and not be able to do everything immediately, and that it is safe here to do so also. 🥰

I actually spent a few hours today helping someone with their mobile phone things. ☺️ technology can be so useful, but it can also be so confusing and stressful to learn or when it doesnt behave.

And a heads up - if you to a forum thread and the last page(s) dont have comments (most likely on larger/longer page threads) dont worry- you haven't done anything wrong! That's a funny glitch on the forum lol. You just have to keep going down the page numbers until to find where it really ends 😅🫣. 

Here's a screenshot example:

 (it make be a little time until a Mod approves the image, so also dont worry if you cant see the above image for a few hours). 

And if you type a post then the page refreshes before you post it and you lose it all -- dont worry too much! I find the site saves a copy as a draft, and you can recover it by clicking on your profile image in the top-right and scrolling down lower on your profile page to a Drafts sections. ☺️ this has saved me soooo many times!
